The focus of the Community Health Program is to provide a broad range of nursing services to Wabigoon First Nation. The goal of all community health activities strive to enhance overall health and well-being of both individuals and the community as a whole. All community-based programming promotes health and aims to prevent injury and illness throughout the lifespan. Services aim to increase access and promote maternal, infant, child, school, adolescent, adult and elder health within our local communities. In conjunction with these services, the Home and Community Care Program focuses on identifying individual needs of home care services. The goal of this program is to assist individuals to maintain independence, optimize level of wellness and ability to remain in their own home and community for as long as possible. These services are closely linked with the community, other community services and external health service providers to ensure quality care.
