Health Services Integration Fund (HSIF)

The Health Service Integration Fund initiative is to support collaborative planning among First Nation communities/organizations, provincial ministries/agencies and Health Canada, aimed at advancing the integration of health services to better meet the health care needs of First Nations.

PFNF’s HSIF initiative/project focus is on Mental Health and Addictions Services with a focus on Prescription Drug Abuse (PDA). This projects intention is to build multi-party partnerships and formal protocol/service agreements that will provide an enhanced delivery system for a seamless mental health and addictions service and to increase access for First Nations clients. In addition, to increase understanding of each jurisdictions health system, capacity and health priorities in order to determine specific areas of duplication, gaps and incompatibilities between services.
